The second annual Eastlake Grand Prix presented by Tuffy Auto Service
Centers is July 6th, 2008. The event is hosted by Championship Kart
Racing Association. Our charity partner is again, Rainbow's Babies and
Childrens Hospital. We are a 100% volunteer organization and will be
contributing ALL of the profits from the E.G.P. to the charity.
The Eastlake Grand Prix is now the only Grand Prix on Cleveland's
North Coast. The Eastlake Grand Prix will be a temporary "Grand Prix"
style roadcourse set up in the parking lot across from the Lake County
Captains/ Classic Ball Park.
Championship Kart Racing Association(CKRA) is the club that hosts the
races at Thompson Kart Raceway in Thompson Ohio. We are a 501c
Non-Profit organization that promotes family oriented kart racing
events on a paved road course that was specifically built for kart
racing. CKRA is made up of 100% volunteers that are passionate about
the sport of karting.
Kart racing is always fast paced, and very exciting. Some of the best
wheel to wheel racing, most people will ever see. Racers ranging from
5 years old, to 67 years old, will compete with us at our regular
events. Drivers are separated by age group, type of engine, and size.
Karting is great fun for the whole family. Racers can begin at age 5
years old and up, but don’t be fooled by that. Most of the racers are
in the adult classes ranging from age 15 years, and older.
"Celebrity Race" A local celebrity race will be held at the event as
well. Anyone that would like to help to promote the event, and
participate in the celebrity race is encouraged to contact us for more
information. All racing equipment will be provided for them.
Kart racing is the grass roots motorsport that almost all professional
racecar drivers used as a stepping stone at the beginning of their
careers. Many of them still race karts to keep on top of their game.
Race Karts are very fast, incredible handling, racing machines.
Karting is also one of the most affordable forms of motorsport that
their is. Racing karts can be very affordable and fit into almost
anyones budget.
Event volunteers are needed. Some volunteers are needed as...Parking
assistants, course flagging, food services and hospitality, and
donation collecting. We can also use extra help with setting up the
race course on Friday morning, and taking it down on Sunday evening.
Sponsorship opportunities are available for companies who would like
to be associated with this wonderful event.
